          As I extend greetings to you, it is also appropriate, at this time, to extend a heart felt thanks.
          This work is a labor of love that characterizes much of what make me tick on a day-to-day basis.  As such, I am thankful that you are giving me your time by allowing me to share this book with you.
          I would be remiss in not saying that there are many people in my life who have and continue to touch and inspire me in ways that I could never repay.

          For this work, however, I'll just name two--my mom, Rose, and my daughter, Portia.  To those many others, but especially to "my girl" I continue to say thank you.

          For the past 20-plus months, "Health and Wellness" has been more than a passion  or pre-occupation to me.  Health and Wellness has been a way of life because this has been the core of my recovery from a heart-related health crisis that totally blind sided me.  In fact, while laying in the hospital (for some 24 days), I had much to consider.  I decided that if I were allowed to walk out of there, I'd use my divinely given talent as a writer/communicator to create a work that might benefit those who are either struggling with their health or motivated to avoid inevitable health problems by making better choices if given better information.

          As a result, this book, "Volume I--The Top 25 Things You Can Do to Change Your Life For the Better...Forever" was born along with GSimms-HealthandWellness.com,  FYI-HealthandWellness.blogspot.com, and GSimms.com.

          The mission is simple--provide good information to facilitate better choices.

          Now trust me, I know that there are a host of other sites and books written about Health and Wellness. 

          But considering that, what differentiates me from others is that I actually walk this walk daily as my personal prescription to living in a wholesome manner.  I can stand behind every word written and every suggestion made.  In other words, this book, in many ways, is a copy of my diary for healthy living.

          I consider this to be so important because as a baby boomer, I am shamefully aware that our group, for the most part, is woefully unhealthy.

          So, while the detractors may say that this might be from the mantra of "we want to live forever," I say get real.  The goal is to sustain or increase your quality of life as you continue on this journey called life.

          For the young folks, pay attention.  Learn from what you are seeing and reading.  Digest the information.  Make modifications to your path in support of a journey that will asssuredly point you in the direction of "conscious choices" about something that we all have paid too little attention to--our health.
